Self love revolution

When your self love levels are low you will find you are tired, irritable and snappy. You may be desperate for others attention and approval so constantly give too much and can’t say “No”. Or you may find you are judgmental and critical of everyone, including yourself. You may never feel good enough so fill your life with stimulants such as wine and caffeine or keep so busy that you have the excuse of having no time/energy/money for yourself.

I find many of my client’s symptoms are originating simply from a lack of self care and from prioritising money, work and other people over their own needs.

Self love is really just about being compassionate with yourself and looking for the good parts of yourself rather than constantly critiquing yourself and not feeling good enough. For most people this simply means treating yourself with the same respect and understanding that you would treat others. We can all do with some help in this department so here are a few suggestions to help. It is time for a self love revolution!

Affirmations, try repeating the following :

“I am allowed to be me and it feels right”.

“I am always doing my best and it is good enough”.

“I am kind, compassionate and understanding to myself as well as others”.

“I am worthy of love and consideration”.

” I love taking good care of myself”.

Practical tools for self love:

Have a haircut/manicure/facial

Go dancing

Spend time in nature

Play with a child or animal

Meditate

Start a gratitude journal

Have a massage/kinesiology balance

Make a vision board

Visit a friend

Exercise

Watch less TV and use less social media

Crystals to encourage self love and esteem:

Rose quartz

Turquoise

Rhodochrosite

Wear these mounted in jewelry or simply carry a stone in your pocket. Crystals can be placed under your pillow or by your bed. Don’t forget to cleanse them regularly. See my blog on crystal cleansing

Heart chakra:

The centre of your heart chakra vibrates at the same frequency as the colour pink. Wearing pink can help soften your energy field to become more loving and accepting of yourself. If you don’t want to wear pink then consider having a pink mug, toothbrush, flowers or a cushion in your home.
