Coeliac Awareness

Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition where the body reacts abnormally to gluten, causing damage to the small intestine. There are many scientific studies, information and support groups available on the dietary side of Coeliac, but I would like to look at the metaphysical, mental and emotional aspects today.

Any autoimmune disease indicates that you are attacking yourself. So if you have Coeliac disease ask yourself the following questions:

Why do you want to attack yourself? Do you feel guilty and blame yourself for something?

Are you self critical of your body, your skills, your intelligence, your creativity?

Are you a perfectionist? Do you never feel like you are good enough? Do you expect to be criticised so you have to do everything perfectly?

If your immune system is unable to distinguish between its own body cells and invader cells are you being deceived in someway?

Do you find it hard to distinguish the truth in a situation?

Have you been betrayed or lied to?

Gluten is said to represent the mother energy, so do you have a challenging relationship with your mother? Do you have a difficult relationship with your children and find parenting tough?

By understanding what your body is trying to communicate via the symptoms you express can help you accept your condition and become more positive of life with Coeliac disease.

Here are some affirmations to help:

“ I am good enough already”

“ I am an intelligent, capable person in my own right”

“ I can spend quality time with my mother and then leave her guilt free”

“ I enjoy being kind to myself”

“ I am committed to looking after myself”
